The ceramics manufacturer Duravit has embarked on an ambitious and wide-reaching climate mission. This is because, as a company with its roots deep in its local region but which does business globally, Duravit feels itself particularly bound to consider sustainability issues. As part of this, the family business, based in the Black Forest area in Germany and economically active in more than 130 countries, has set itself the challenge of resorting to offsetting its CO2 emissions as little as possible.
Our major objective: to be completely climate-neutral in our global business operations by 2045.
• We put sustainability into practice within our value-added chain, with a clear focus on the following four dimensions: water, resources, climate and social commitment.
• Our actions in all our strategic areas are evaluated and optimized from a sustainability perspective.
• To ensure that Duravit’s ambitious climate goals become a reality around the world, disruptive change in the production of ceramics is required.
Stephan Tahy, Duravit CEO: “In this process we’re scrutinizing every given, and investing so that we can find and implement new approaches for a sustainable future”.
